Boulder Imaging Launches TECHNOPRINT, a Synthetic Paper and Film Inspection System

Louisville, CO – March 4, 2019 Boulder Imaging (BI), machine vision experts, announces the launch of TechnoPrint Powered by Boulder Imaging. The TechnoPrint machine vision inspection system detects, measures, and classifies defects and non-uniformities in synthetic papers and films, commonly used for a variety of marketing, design, packaging and labeling needs.

“For synthetic papers to stand up to the rigors of the elements and demanding environments, as well as the critical eye of consumers, it needs to be free of defects,” said Don Mills, Boulder Imaging President and Chief Operating Officer. “For the past seven years, Boulder Imaging has worked with a leading global producer of synthetic paper to develop a transformational machine vision inspection system that ensures that every roll is the highest quality and durability – all at high speed, accuracy and resolution.”

“We successfully incorporated our inspection technology into their precision manufacturing process to maintain their stringent quality standards. We look forward to now providing this proven inspection technology to the broader synthetic paper market,” said Mills.

TECHNOPRINT

The TechnoPrint high-performance machine vision inspection system can see both reflective and transmissive defects as small as 75 microns and at speeds up to 800 feet per minute. Flexible and adaptive, TechnoPrint can be implemented throughout the production process to provide manufacturers with the ability to identify and correct problems in real time. The user interface is configurable to display results from live or recorded inspections and multiple views are available so that users can review individual defects or a complete roll map.

Vision Inspector, Boulder Imaging's proprietary software platform, detects and classifies the full spectrum of features and defects in real-time, incorporating full data collection, archiving and traceability.
