Distinguishing Features of Boulder Imaging's
VisionRecorder™ Digital Video Recording Systems:

1.

Real-time design - Boulder Imaging's software is built for real-time performance, with a highly optimized multi-threaded architecture that maximizes data flow:

  • The capture modules in charge of the flow of image data get the highest priority
  • The image-processing pipeline receives the remaining CPU time to perform operations such as displaying the image on the screen

High-performance — our component-based imaging processing pipeline architecture leads to unlimited flexibility and scalability for custom systems.

3.

Hardware independence — customers can change cameras or capture hardware without having to modify any high-level application code.

4.

Real-time streaming to disk — our add-on modules support sustained image capture to disk array (using specialized disk controllers) with no data drops for hours.

5.

Scalability — our architecture supports image capture from multiple simultaneous cameras, with throughput only limited by the underlying hardware platform.

6.

Real-Time Response — Our system includes two CPUs for real-time response. We run our capture code with real-time priority thread to compensate for any possible interruption of a low-level operating systems, like Windows XP and 2000, to guarantee that the code gets to one CPU, even if the operating system preemptively takes the other.
