Boulder Imaging Key Personnel

Carlos Jorquera - President and Senior Systems Engineer Carlos founded Boulder Imaging, formerly named CJ Computational Systems, in 1995. Before starting Boulder Imaging, Carlos worked on imaging systems for spacecraft and ground-based telescopes at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He received a BS in physics and electrical engineering with an emphasis in computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Jie Zhu Kulbida - Vice President of Engineering and Machine Vision Specialist Jie has extensive industrial and R&D experience in image processing, machine vision, and software engineering from companies like Xerox, NCR, and UPS. Jie received a BS in electrical engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, and a MS in electrical and systems engineering from the University of Connecticut.
Susan Downey - Chief Operations Engineer and Systems Engineering Susan has engineering experience from Ball Aerospace and Technologies Corporation and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where she worked on space-bound projects including Galileo and the Hubble Space Telescope. Susan received a BS in physics from the University of Colorado.
Jamie Grier – Director of Engineering Jamie has extensive software engineering experience and specific expertise in computer graphics and audio/video systems. Jamie studied computer science at Colorado State University.
Mark Cheatham – Software Engineer Mark received a B.S. degree in Computer Science from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia and specializes in C++ development, Java, and other software environments. He gained experience while working for Harmonia and developing LiquidUI, an integrated software suite for designing and deploying user interfaces across multiple platforms. Mark has also developed software utilizing XML, graphics, and network programming.
Danna Gurari – Software Engineer Danna received a BS in Biomedical Engineering and MS in Computer Science from Washington University in St. Louis. Her emphasis was in imaging and, for her master’s thesis, she developed an ultrasound system which performed both fundamental and harmonic imaging. After graduating, but before joining Boulder Imaging, Danna worked as a Software Engineer for Raytheon where she worked on satellite systems including the environmental satellite system NPOESS.
Gary Pommerville – Computer Hardware Specialist Gary was a weapon systems computer technician for the U.S. Navy, specifically on the Aegis and Terrier systems, stationed at San Diego, Dahlgren, and Norfolk. He was a support and repair technician for Gateway Computers, doing repairs and troubleshooting on personal and business computers and was a systems sales and design consultant for Best Buy’s business group. Gary has certifications for Microsoft MCP, A+ certification, and the Microsoft Small Business Specialist.
Jason Luttrell - Quality Assurance Engineer Jason received a B.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. While working in Hewlett Packard's imaging and printing division, he gained experience in C/C++ development, quality assurance practices, and imaging systems.
Darlene Davis – Marketing and Sales Manager Darlene has marketing and sales experience in the automotive industry, software industry and retail sales. Darlene received a BS in marketing from the University of Wyoming.
Rochelle “Shashi” Gore - Administrative Assistant Shashi has office administration and marketing experience in advertising and the computer industry. Shashi received a BS in Journalism from the University of Colorado in Boulder.
